Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a versatile treatment which can be used to repair issues with broken, chipped and decayed teeth, and can even be used to correct issues with discolouration. The process involves preparing the treatment area by roughening it, applying a gel and painting it with a chemical, before the bonding material is used to complete the procedure.

White Fillings

White fillings can be used as an alternative to, or to replace, traditional metal amalgam fillings. These fillings look much more natural than amalgam, and can make a big difference for those looking to have cavities repaired.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment which is used to improve the shape and colour of a patient’s teeth. The treatment involves placing a thin layer of porcelain over the existing tooth to give the appearance of a whiter, perfectly formed smile.

What Are The Benefits of the Treatment?

Veneers can be used to correct a number of cosmetic dental issues such as chipped, uneven, misaligned or discoloured teeth. The result is a healthy looking white smile, which can help restore your confidence.

Are There Alternative Treatments?

The available alternatives will depend on the issue we are treating. For chipped or broken teeth we may be able to use composite bonding or tooth coloured fillings to repair the damage. If the teeth are healthy but discoloured then teeth whitening and dental cleaning may help restore their natural whiteness. For alignment issues, orthodontic treatments may be an option in some cases.

How Long Do Veneers Last?

Porcelain veneers are extremely durable, and with good care and regular maintenance they can last for many years. They are vulnerable in the same way as your natural teeth, so you can help keep them in good condition by taking care when eating hard foods and by generally avoiding putting them under unnecessary stress.

How Are Teeth Prepared for Veneers?

In order for the veneers to fir properly, a small layer of enamel will be removed from the tooth being treated. This will be performed under local anaesthetic, after which an impression of the tooth will be taken. You will initially be fitted with a temporary veneer while the permanent veneer is being manufactured. The final veneer will be custom made to achieve the desired shape and colour and give you the best possible results.

How Long Does The Fitting Take?

Most patients will require two visits to have veneers fitted. The initial visit will involve us taking impressions of your teeth, after which the veneers can been placed and cemented into position. We will work with you during this process to make sure you’re completely happy with the look and feel of the veneers before they are bonded permanently.
