Zygomatic Dental Implants

Zygomatic dental implants are a potential solution for patients who may have previously been told that implants are not suitable for them. Standard dental implants require a certain amount of bone in the jaw in order for the titanium rod to bond successfully. Patients who have insufficient bone may be unable to have typical dental implants unless they also undergo a complex bone grafting procedure.

With zygomatic implants, in addition to four normal implants into the jaw bone, the surgeon also implants two longer rods, which extend into the dense zygomatic bone, or cheekbone. These add great stability and strength to the implants, and negate the need for bone grafting.

Why Choose Implant Retained Dentures

Thanks to zygomatic implants, patients who may previously have thought there was no simple solution for missing, broken or damaged teeth now have the opportunity to regain their smile. Zygomatic implants can provide a full set of replacement teeth that look, feel and perform just like natural teeth.

Like the popular All on 4 procedure, after fitting zygomatic implants, we are able to add a full arch of replacement teeth, giving patients a brand new smile all on the same day. The entire procedure can be completed under local anaesthetic, by our expert implant surgeon Guy McLellan along with our CDT Mike Fuse.

Throughout the process, we will consult with you to ensure you know what’s happening at every stage. You will have a range of options enabling you to choose the shape and colour of your new teeth, so that you are completely happy with your new, natural look.

Over the course of your treatment, you will be looked after by our caring and knowledgeable team, who will be able to talk to you about any issues or concerns you may have, and ensure you definitely leave us with a smile!
