Patient Journey

Your clinical consultation takes one to two hours. We’ll gather the digital data we need to plan your treatment.

1. CBCT Scan 
   A 3D X-ray of your upper and lower jaws. This shows us your bone structure in detail.
2. Digital Intra Oral Scan
   A 3D camera captures your teeth and gums with one-micron precision. It’s more comfortable and more accurate than traditional mould impressions.
   
3. Clinical Photos & Video
   High-quality images that feed into the design process.

With this data, we’ll assess whether you’re suitable for our full jaw solution. If you are, we’ll create a virtual 3D model of your skull and plan your new teeth and surgical procedure. If another treatment suits you better, we’ll discuss that instead.

A Patient Coordinator will address any remaining questions. If you’d like to secure a surgery date, you can do so with a small deposit.

We’ll discuss sedation options and treatment costs. We have various options available – we’ve successfully treated even the most nervous patients.

Our clinical team calculates the optimal positions for your teeth and dental implants. A treatment plan will be written up and sent to you following your consultation.

Our clinical designers then craft your customised surgical guides and teeth, ready for surgery day.

Surgery is typically scheduled 2-3 weeks after your consultation.

Same Day Teeth –  Transformation: Your Surgery Day at Fusion Dentistry.

You’ll arrive at 8am (though your specific time may differ – we’ll confirm this in advance). You’ll be escorted to a private room, where a dedicated Fusion nurse will be with you throughout the day.

The Procedure
Under sedation (the option you chose during your consultation), any remaining teeth will be extracted and dental implants will be placed. The procedure typically takes about 2 hours per jaw.

Recovery & Your New Teeth
After the procedure, you’ll return to your private room to rest. While you recover, our on-site lab technicians will be crafting your bespoke initial prosthesis.

Your “smile in a day” prosthetics will then be placed – your first set of fixed teeth. You’ll be able to speak and smile with this initial set.

A few months later, you’ll return for your final set of teeth, which refine the aesthetics and function of your smile.

We’ll review your progress and healing approximately 2 & 4 weeks after your prosthetic fitting, which took place on the day of your surgery.

Attending your review appointment, scheduled around 2 & 4 weeks after your prosthetic fitting, holds paramount importance for several compelling reasons, underscoring our unwavering commitment to your well-being and satisfaction.

During the review, our team will provide oral hygiene advice including Water Picks with instructions on the best way to use them during your oral routine.

Health and Progress Assessment
Your oral health and recovery are of paramount concern to us. This follow-up appointment provides an invaluable opportunity to assess your progress post-surgery. We’ll closely examine your healing process, ensuring that everything is proceeding as anticipated.

Fine-Tuning Your Treatment
While our surgical and prosthetic procedures are meticulously planned, individual responses to treatment can vary. Your review appointment allows us to make any necessary adjustments or refinements to your treatment plan, ensuring optimal outcomes.

Addressing Concerns and Questions
We understand that the period following your surgery can raise questions and concerns. Attending the review appointment allows us to address any uncertainties you may have, offering clarity and peace of mind.

Approximately, 12-14 weeks following your initial surgery, we’ll begin the process for your final prosthesis where the reinforced, slimmer, and more aesthetic bridge will be placed. This is usually achieved over 3-4 appointments.

This waiting time ensures that the implants have fully integrated with your jaw to maximise the stability of your fixed teeth.

We understand that our aftercare process is just as important as the treatment itself.

That’s why, as part of your final fitting, we’ll discuss next steps for aftercare and offer a dental plan so that all of your future appointments are taken care of.

Maintaining Your All-on-4 Smile: Our Expert Maintenance Program

We recommend an annual comprehensive review and six-monthly hygiene appointments to maintain your dental implants.

Annual Review
Your annual review includes X-rays (£150) so we can monitor the health of your jawbone and the integrity of your implants. We’ll assess your implants to ensure they remain stable and functioning properly. If we spot any potential issues early, we can address them promptly.

Six-Monthly Hygiene Appointments
Every six months, our hygienists will thoroughly clean your dental implants, teeth, and gums, removing any plaque or tartar buildup. This prevents gum disease and keeps your smile healthy.
