Cancellations at short notice and non-attendance without a valid reason deny patients essential dental care and treatment. To help to reduce possible price increases and decrease waiting times for appointments, we have a cancellation and failure to attend policy.

We respectfully ask for 1 working day’s (24hrs) notice to cancel an appointment. An appointment cancelled with less than 1 day’s notice will be considered as a failed to attend appointment.

We reserve the right to refuse further treatment to patients who fail to attend two consecutive appointments or have two late cancellations.

We understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable due to illness or emergencies and will, of course, take into account all individual circumstances.

In the event of a cancellation, we will endeavour to fill the time allocated to you with another patient.

We reserve the right to charge for any time subsequently lost as a result of a late cancellation or failure to attend.

Missed appointments will be charged at £50 per 15 minutes of missed appointment time.

Please note: If appointments are repeatedly cancelled or rescheduled at short notice, we may ask for further appointments to be paid for in advance, where the full cost of the time allocated is paid on booking. In these cases, the appointment fee would be charged whether or not you are able to attend.

Further to all points noted above, we would like patients to be at ease in knowing that the Fusion Dentistry team fully understands that sometimes things come up that cannot be avoided, and therefore, we will take extenuating circumstances into consideration.

At Fusion Dentistry, we send appointment reminders 7, 3 & 1 days before an appointment. Please inform the practice of any changes to your contact details as soon as possible.

This policy and relevant procedures will be reviewed annually and are due for review on 02/02/2027 or prior to this date in accordance with new guidance or legislative changes.
