Our private dentistry clinic and on-site laboratory near Cardiff city centre has been carefully developed to offer an environment that helps even the most anxious patients undergo the treatment they wish.

Our team offers a range of sedation options for nervous patients in South Wales, including IV sedation – also known as ‘twilight’ or ‘conscious’ sedation. This induces a relaxing effect, sleepiness, and amnesia – so most patients remember very little of their procedure and believe they slept through the whole thing.

How dental sedation works

The IV sedation procedure is carried out by Fusion Dentistry’s consultant anaesthetist.

It doesn’t ‘put you to sleep’, as with a general anaesthetic, but it causes a state of deep relaxation and drowsiness. While many nervous patients drop off during treatment, they can be roused to answer questions if required, and will be able to respond to the gentle squeeze of their hand – though with the amnesic effect of the drug, they are unlikely to remember this.

Dental sedation also creates the sensation of time passing very quickly, so your procedure will appear to be over in minutes.

Discuss Rough Costs: Our coordinators will give you a general idea of the costs involved. Please keep in mind that our pricing is not a one-size-fits-all; it’s tailored to your individual needs and desired outcomes. The prices discussed over the phone are just a guide.

I'm frightened my treatment will hurt

You may be concerned that your dental implant procedure, or the healing process afterwards, will be painful.

But while replacing your missing teeth can sound like an enormous undertaking, dental implant surgery with Fusion dentists is so high-tech, many patients are surprised to discover just how manageable it is.

We can assure you that your dental implant procedure will be pain-free – your local anaesthetic, or sedation if required, will ensure you are completely numb.

Post-operative pain is normal and to be expected, though every patient is different. It can be controlled and managed with over-the-counter medication as it is only mild.

Implant surgery is so precise that the healing process is usually very fast.

I'm frightened of operations

We understand why you might worry about what happens during your dental implant procedure – whether everything will go to plan, and what will happen to you while the implant dentist is working.

We won’t begin treatment until you are very familiar with our practice environment and feel confident about our team, technology, skill and experience.

At Fusion Dentistry, our implant dentist, Dr Guy McLellan, holds dual medical and dental qualifications.

You will also be supported by a team of dedicated and experienced care nurses who will watch over you for the whole of your procedure.

During the consultation process, you’ll have the opportunity to tour the Fusion Dentistry practice in Cardiff. You can visit Fusion’s onsite lab and meet the surgical team.

My dentist advised me that I would need a denture on my lower back jaw (both sides) as I only had one tooth left and that had become wobbly. I’ve always been extremely afraid of dentists, so this was very bad news, however, I knew I didn’t want dentures - I associated them with knitting grannies! So I decided to explore the possibility of implants. After looking at several companies offering this service, I decided Fusion fitted me best. Fusion looked very professional, welcoming & clean. I initially spoke with Abbie, who didn’t take long to convince me to ‘put on my big girl pants’ and book a consultation. That went well, I was introduced to Katie, my co-ordinator and Mike. Following X-rays and scans, I was advised that I’d be suitable. I wanted it done ‘yesterday’ as I was so anxious!! Anyway, a couple of weeks later, I was sat in reception awaiting the procedure to begin!! I needn’t of worried, Veronica, Craig & Guy put me at ease. I chose sedation. The next thing I knew, it was over!! Implants placed!! Next stage recovery. It was uncomfortable for a couple of weeks, but what was I to expect - my jaw had been drilled & filled!! Painkillers helped. Now a few months later, I have my permanent teeth and I couldn’t be happier. I’d encourage anyone thinking of having implants ‘to be brave’ and have it done. The procedure was absolutely painless.I’d like to offer special thanks to Marlene who always greeted me with a smile and words of support. Thank you Fusion.

The Team at Fusion are very courteous and professional. From my initial appointment with Mike who assured me that the zygomatic all on 4 procedure could be carried out on me gave me the confidence and belief that this would be life changing for me. Excellent clinic with awesome staff.My procedure was quite intimidating on paper but from the first visit there was an influx of confidence that helped going through the process.The procedure went really well, with one of the top clinicians in the country leading the surgery, doing some extra engineering that would make the results better and more durable as I like to thing I’m still young.The follow up was great, with plenty of appointments to make sure everything was going as planned and the team working hard and precisely to overcome some difficulties brought about by an overbite. In contrast with NHS where they offered to saw off some of my jawbone and then sticking it back together to compensate, Fusion found a way to achieve this without so much pains and sacrifices.I would encourage anyone who needs a procedure to at least visit the clinic and have their assessment, any fears or insecurities will vanish after that first visit and the staff will look after you for the years to come.I am myself very glad I put myself in their hands

I am posting this review on behalf of my wife as she does not have a google account. Her opinion is that the team at Fusion are friendly and professional. They explained the treatment process, which included inserting 3 titanium rods into her jaw bone on which 3 new teeth were eventually bonded. The process took around 9 months and she was kept fully informed as to what would be done and when. She felt very comfortable with the work being done and that the surgeons operating were at the top of their profession. She unequivocally recommends Fusion to anyone contemplating using their services. Also, Fusion were highly recommended by her own private dental surgeon when the procedure required could not be delivered at his practice.

I have been with Fusion since November 2021 and can only say that the service and treatment I have received in that time has been absolutely superb. I received treatment for a full upper dental implant which was carried out in one day and the professionalism of staff, dental staff and Dr was second to none.
